cheap wow classic gold was a moment that stood to highlight the camaraderie of an MMORPG, that'massively multiplayer' facet of WoW which critics said had been lost amongst all the upgrades. We chatted to other people we had picked up in our party about what they remembered the friends we'd made questing in circumstances that were virtually identical all those years ago, and thought of the demonstration, and about BlizzCon generally. Yes we were battling against the game's mechanics, but we had been tackling it.
Each fight felt like a slog. As a Hunter -- WoW's hottest class - you're supposed to be using ranged skills, but if an enemy comes in five yards of you, you're unable to fire your weapon, meaning we had to go through the motions of firing off a Concussion Shot to slow down the bandits' movement, while running backward away from the struggle to keep them in the ranged sweet place. It feels very primitive, and functions as a reminder that some of the stuff was changed for a reason.
The consensus in the chat was pretty apt. The people were enjoying the experience that was nostalgic, but half were shocked at the many mechanics that were antiquated, and among the jokes when Blizzard added pandarens to Classic inquiring. There was a feeling that people would dip their feet into old-school Azeroth, but it's really a committed, but large, handful of gamers who will find the absolute most. Much more immersive gameplay, the slower is an attractive proposition and it's easy to get lost in, but alongside that rose-tinted view of the past, you begin to find the cracks within the decade and a half old game design.
