King of the Hill: Talk about holding the ball! The more time you're in the square, the more points the following goal you score is worth (with a maximum score increase of 3). Mystery Ball: When possession changes and a new ball is pitched on the pitch it's going to have a different attribute increase. By way of example, a ball may have a speed increase, dribbling boost, or web you extra goals if you score with this. This gives me significant flashbacks into NBA Street's game-breaker basketball along with the electric ball out of, the more contemporary spin on streetball, NBA Playgrounds.
Obviously, not everybody finds these goofy developments as exciting as I do. Even the person presenting these modes admitted that there are members of the team that roll their eyes at House Rules because it's"so far from real soccer." Luckily for fans, all this is optional. But I for one, never wanted anything .
The group draws all the inspiration from the game itself but they're definitely not afraid to learn a thing or two from ongoing games that keep players participated with rotating and seasons makeup. And fans will be happy to know that FIFA Volta is completely free of microtransactions (at least in launch, fingers crossed it stays that way). I am excited for FIFA mobile and expect that FIFA continues to push the bounds of sports that are realistic sim by introducing goofy elements that are only possible in video games.
For the past three summers, I have made a journey from Charlottesville, VA to San Francisco, especially to play some EA Sports titles. For the previous two years that the event was a multi-title showcase, but this season was about FIFA mobile. After living a bizarre encounter with the DEA, I sat in front of an early build of this year's futbol fest, and got hands on time with the new VOLTA mode, as well as more standard 11 v 11 playwith. VOLTA is getting the whole red carpet treatment, and the team looks proud of its brand new baby. It's a street-level mode, although there was plenty of highlighting this isn't FIFA Street. There is plenty to appreciate about VOLTA even from a sports-averse nerd like myself, but at its center is a new gameplay doctrine that actually pushes FIFA mobile to the next level.
