As for runescape players being"gifted" highly desired things: first off virtus armor isn't THAT highly sought after, it is a fantastic mid-high lvl gear that is far cheaper that its higher grade options. Second off involving runescape players being able to get millions of gp by obtaining a dye by a clue scroll (www.rsgoldfast.com
),
the item being just dropped by Nex, a runescape player only purchasing the gear (simpler than buying keys and expect to get this super rare item), or simply being able to buy a bond and sell it to get more than what virst armor is worth anyhow, this way of getting it is no longer gifting the armor to runescape players compared to those others ways are, except that in this way they can't sell the virtus to help upgrade their armor.
Interesting article, but seeing OSRS. As you acknowledge OSRS doesn't have any MTX excluding out of bonds. You suggest Jagex have a freemium strategy to the runescape game. With that being said how can OSRS fall into the business model do you believe? The runescape game retains value to Jagex if Cheap Rs gold P2P turned into a choice to runescape players. Will Jagex barricade their popular variant of the runescape game behind this RunePass subscription seeking to salvage the earnings they get or take a different approach?
First let me get the controvesial thing out of the way. I unlike a lot of people with this reddit'm not so eligible to believe jagex owes me a single thing as 1. I don't own any portion of the business and two. Runescape was never will be made to match my preferences. That is the origin of people's issues here. They think Jagex has some responsibility and are too entitled. This is one of those"Great in concept, but impossible in practicality" situations.
