I think alts' prevalence was once a testament

I am certain the community inhibits the growth of Pvp. But let us face it, this aspect of the community has always existed and isn't unique to RuneScape. I would bet the combat system does actually have to do with the decrease of Pvp, given the relative prevalence of PvP in Old School. But when I had to pin Pvp's"problems" on a single problem, it would simply be the fact that Jagex currently focuses their advancement more and more on high-level, end-game content. And who can blame them? After 15 years, you'd expect that RuneScape players wish to do something with all of their loot and abilities that they have acquired.
But if you look at the height of PvP, it came in a time when lots of the ideal Pvp gear was t70 or t60 equipment. Because the founders of RuneScape never intended for it to be"defeated" or even"maxed". They implemented skills which provided no meaningful content or gear at elevated levels, and which were ridiculously costly or slow to educate.
So what exactly did RuneScape players do if they started to achieve these upper echelons? With very little reason (unlockable material ) to tediously grind away at high level abilities - besides climbing the high scores for its own sake - RuneScape players switched to PvP. And when they discovered that their mid high level primary account was terrible for Pvp in their combat bracket, a pure was made by them. Maybe pures, for battle degree ranges and different styles. Possibly all financed by their main. For a lot of men and women, end game content was supporting other alt accounts and their pures.
However, I think alts' prevalence was once a testament to just how many distinct ways there were to play with RuneScape game. And I think that it was great for RuneScape game's economy and ecology. I mean people used to conduct character at the atmosphere altar, sometimes for as little as 1-2k per trip.
