I prefer not having to go back to place of death yes, in a rush. If you die due to power or internet outage that lasts more than one hour, I suppose you just lose the majority of your stuff on OSRS? You still have the option of going back and catching your employees from the grave on RS3, but for equipment that degrades (anything over T70) it's usually cheaper to retrieve it at Death's Office. You should use RoD, if your death cost is that high. For equipment, it'll be affordable.
Departure's Office is great. It's a massive coin sink aswell, although not needing to rush to your items is 1 thing. It also opens up the possibility for new items: in RS3 there's this ring known as [[Ring of Death]] which you bill with onyxes, and teleports you to safety when you die, preventing the death cost. (you die, so it does not save HCIM, but it's a set cost in charges. It leaves the RuneScape players who have expensive equipment farming top end bosses actually pay for their mistakes rather than invest a couple of minutes getting their items back. I have seen some of the discussions regarding the new mechanisms over there; a few of those men seem real mad they are losing their no cost additional inventory at bosses.
I don't think that it makes RuneScape game easier per se. The office of death unites the passing mechanics we used to have with passing mechanisms that are new. It is possible to run back to your grave if you think you've got the time and you're going to get your items back for free (except degradeables which loose a particular percent ) or in case you do not want to perform that/your time ran out before you got to the gravestone you need to purchase back your things, you have 24 hours to make the money to purchase back your items. It designed in such a way that level RuneScape players do not pay but if you take items the passing costs can increase. I feel as this is the ideal death mechanic RS3 has needed. It penalizing in the event that you die, but it's not crippling any progress you're making since you dropped of your items like from the older method way back and couldn't make it back to your grave in time.
An significant part rs3 death mechanisms is that the ring of death, which is the second greatest ring available for dps and essentially lets you prevent fee is reclaimed by the death around 400k currently. As someone that brings switches I rarely have a death so the ring of departure is essential anywhere I plan on dying. But all in all I feel that the passing mechanics are fantastic. I don't go pvming without a couple of bil of items on, and when there was a chance of losing them my experience would be much worse. I also enjoy having actual impacts. If passing meant virtually nothing, it would feel. Another significant part rs3 passing mechanisms is that at most group bosses, it is possible to get a way to log out if your group expires (but normally it's somewhat tougher than teleporting outside ). This means that if you're taking a learner, you don't usually need to pay for when they expire.
