They didn't consider the spacebar warriors, though. The puzzle of Zaros will constantly stay if you didn't read the dialog! It's why I'm so sure that Saradomin and Zaros are still popular. Back in the day, I would have ranked them like... Guthix, then Zaros, then Armadyl, Zamorak, Saradomin, then Bandos. Now it is more like Zamorak, Armadyl, Guthix, Zaros, Saradomin, subsequently Bandos. Not that there is anything wrong with Zaros - I only believe his ideas are flawed and his ego is too big. His philosophy is adequate.
Refusing to gate in the bare minimum with fundamental quests and creating RuneScape's lore even more inconsistent. I would really be fine with Zanik function as digsite director in the event that you chose not to kill her eternally during Nomad's Elegy. It would have actually been hilarious if players that chose to kill her would have Zimberfizz ash as a digsite boss instead. At least it'd make more sense.
But this is exactly what happens when Jagex plain fails to request players to finish the bare minimum quests to get a LORE DRIVEN SKILL. Nope, can not ask players to complete a moderate length quest with 13 Agility, Thieving and 17 Mining reqs since it is too much. Gotta go back in AoD, you know? I only wish Osborne, Orion, or Raven would have been included in this ability, at times it seems like they're the last mods that really care about RuneScape's lore.
As much as I dislike quests, I have to agree. Archeology with quest-locked content just makes sense. You're uncovering history. Quests build lore. Not to mention quest requirements would have likely suppressed the alt accounts people made just to gather mats plus they never would have had to nerf the exceptional weapon piece drops that served only to twist over the common participant. Now that you have said it I agree. Having a skill that involves quest locked content actually makes a lot of sense and would provide more motivation for individuals to do questing.
I have no idea where you're getting this belief from. Osborne has overseen the abolishment of pursuit requirements, reduced pursuit numbers to their all time cheapest whilst cutting the resources to create them and sits in on those meetings signing off on all these thoughts. All he does is says some vacant words to encourage hype sometimes in between his various vacations on players cash. His actions or inactions show he doesn't give a damn about the lore or players or RuneScape.
