There are different reasons which have made NBA 2K how it is besides the engine. E.g negligence from the business and employees. I know if you remember but before NBA 2K was released the 2K20 trailer showed the old neighbourhood was returning, of course folks didnt like this and contested ronnie2K about it.
We have a"community manager" who's prepared to lie to us on multiple occasions with no hesitation to save face and that exact same individual is the person who supposedly"passes on" our thoughts and fantasies to the development team. I can only imagine what the development team is like behind closed doors. As far as I am aware, the engine shift is 100 it is. So it is the only thing I'm clinging on to in hopes that NBA 2K ends up fun again, because I cant really put my faith in the company or employees as a whole. Not after being let down for 3 years in a row.
Its equilibrium lol. Past year NBA 2K was filled with 6’10 locks which could do it all thats why height includes significantly less athleticism now. Cmon everyone demi gods. I completely concur, locks year were broken especially on the 2's court. Ironically, although I know what they are planning for is balance wouldn't you agree that 2K20 is one of the most unbalanced of the 2K games? I feel like 2K17 had but it was good. I could have a 6'10 SF which could do all the dribble moves and slash as well a shoot threes standing or off the dribble, but it just meant that I couldn't shoot out the lights just like a sharp or posterize such as the slashers. So that I could mark centers very consistently with my extra height, I sacrificed a bit of everything else for some height. I had access to all the layup packages and park dunks, but now I literally cant perform them unless I create a slasher, I feel like holding back content such as that is less enjoyable.
There is really a reason as to why some people today favor the elderly online 2K and it isn't just as a fantastic player is fun, because playing. When you include all theses limitations to the myplayers it encourages more cheesy play. The general system encourages this, but 2K does make games to have fun in so it wasn't immediately pitched in design stage. You think everyone being 99 ovr demigods would not be cheesy? Perform some park or rec at 2K19 rn you will see a bunch of demigods zig zagging at 99 speed and greening limitless 3s every time.
