Westbrook took a team that had been a shell of its former self and managed to put together among the most impressive individual seasons in NBA history and carrying them into a playoff berth. Definitely put the Rockets. The season the Thunder well might have competed for a ring that he pumped Russ out with a dirty play that changed his career forever. Of course Harden being there and being the whiniest player in the league doesn't help.
I think that team was probably the most powerful Thunder facet, a definitely their best shot at a title. While shedding Harden was large, I believe that the rise of KD and Westbrook, in addition to Kevin Martin being like 80 percent as good as Harden (because 6th man role sharing the ball with the other two at the point in their professions ) greater than made up for that loss. Sefolosha could shoot somewhat. Collison balled out along with Perkins hadn't been totally passed by the league by. That time was a heartbreaker. I remember walking around watching that match on my phone and watching Russ lift up his leg after that drama I knew it was not going to go as planned. The offense a bit surely hurts, but like you stated KMart filled in at that point. I seriously think OKC gets a ring that season if Russ doesn't get hurt.
This is an wonderful breakdown, but Portland ought to be added into the rivals list. I truly coined it, but out of last year I never really felt as though they were about precisely the same level as Houston, Utah, SAS, or GS, but I can definitely say they're a honorable mention at the very least, kinda on the same level as Dallas. I put Dallas on there because Cuban is this a damn trill and super dirty series we played against them the year we made the WCF against GS. Came out running his mouth once the series began and if I recall correctly Mejri (sp) and Zaza did every dirty trick they were able to win and still got slapped around. OKC went to get to GS on that run. If KD really shows up in NBA 2K21 game 6 or 7 of the series we'd have seen another finals appearance. I'll forever stand by the speculation which KD understood he was going to GS already and stop going all in when he realized they had been going to remove his soon to be group.
Who is our best player now it is the stage god, Chris Paul. He is a legendary player, but is getting old. The player of the future is a dude called Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Hejust finished his second year in the league, and's young. He's fucking good. He's really fucking good. Shai is your god now, if you are a fan of the Thunder. Our background: we've just been a group for a little over a couple of years, to put it shortly. We stole them out of Seattle and moved them, although there was a group known as the Seattle Supersonics. It was pretty controversial, but everybody that things is over it and Oklahoma City is round the league.
