THANK YOU which makes so much sense. I stopped playing before EoC seemingly (had no idea what this was until reading in this sub) however I have vague memories of the game changing in bizarre ways before I stopped playing.
I'm really thankful OSRS is out but I do not understand the competition, or that which seems to be a competition. I guess that there will always be toxic people on either side seeking to begin unnecessary play, that appears the be how the gaming world works.Plus keep in mind that the rivalry is also due in part to the shared resources between the games.
OSRS has less resources from Jagex despite getting more players, which rubs some gamers the wrong way (personally I do not think it's a bad thing, less devs means less demanding updates to spoil the game ).Maybe it's a popular take, however I think OSRS is far less demanding with the resources it requires for updates, especially in the graphics department. When you compare areas like Korrund in OSRS together with The Arc at RS3, it is fairly clear an even distribution of manpower wouldn't be honest, given the uneven workload.
RS3 also requires a bigger team to deal with an extra decade worth of spaghetti code, as well as using a pretty dang big team dedicated exclusively to MTX, which can be... somethingI am just getting back into Runescape again after playing a bunch in the early 2000s. I've been enjoying the combat a lot more in RS3 than I did when I played with since there was almost no interaction at the old battle. I'm truly interested, what are/were the overall complaints about it from the community?
