Pretty much, it's a lot simpler and faster to discover defects than to fix them, but they have been making a real work. Like creating a C++ customer for steam is a pretty big deal for just how little the community appears to have reacted. It is not an immediate resolution like suddenly having runelite as the official client on all platforms, but it is a step towards a lot of things we've been requesting for many years.
I worry that osrs becoming the main cash cow incentivises jagex to drive more cash catching practices in the sport.
I am hoping it reveals Jagex that you do not need intrusive MTX to make a product that is very rewarding in this era. They could add MTX into OSRS, but it would be quite short sighted.Very farfetched but yeLikely unlikely to receive eliminated completely. However, I know RS3 players have desired an MTX reform and Jagex talked about doing it before making a few tiny changes and then deciding not to follow through.
At least from what I have seen about the subreddit and such, many RS3 players are not a lover of MTX but a lot of them would be much happier with it is they toned down or eliminated the P2W elements (e.g. buying exp) and pushed less MTX advertising (or had more real upgrades per week after week of MTX promos and little else).
Interesting. And should the sub increases are out of OSRS, that is probably why we have seen such substantial investment in growing OSRS over the past few months.I wonder how it will look for 2020.
