I recall reading a huge twitter thread"exposing" Fifi of being a repeatedly problematic animal crossing player, changing usernames constantly after being banned, and screenshots along with testimonies of racist and other problematic behaviour. If I recall correctly, minimal investigation was obligated to prove that the entire thread was a lie and also proof was fabricated to fuel the mob against her. The new pack of hairs introduced to the game were meant for cultural inclusion for AC fans, imo. I think the buns seem like afro puffs instead of distance buns, but a hate mob was not necessary. I basically unfollowed all animal crossing accounts and checked from Twitter for a little while from that. Too much drama for such a simple and wholesome game.
The thing that I find particularly weird about this whole thing is that folks seem to think that it matters what the in game hair model is supposed to be.
In minecraft, if I use one fence block to hang a glowstone from the ceiling, then it's not a weapon, it is a chandelier chain/rope. Even if the hairstyle was called'Afro Puffs' in game and presented as such, If I wanted to create a character with space buns and there was no closer hairstyle I would use that one. The post isn't ambiguous at all about the aims of the design, so they're unquestionably space buns.
I once was making family and friends in Sims together with my buddy, and we had to utilize a mustache which was stereotypic for a different ethnic group to symbolize my daddy's'stache because there was not anything really appropriate or accurate to his personality. I am not Asian or Latina, thus going by these principles I need to be'disallowed' from dressing in another civilization's garb? No. Because it is a game. Finally completed all flower wreaths from animal crossing in actual life!!! So pretty! About how large are they? Do you have a photo of you holding them something near for size?Ironing the flowers and leafs to create the shapes, and for the wreaths I utilized floral wires; basically everything from scratch ~That is super dedication to ironing those tiny corners and over again. Congratulations on creating such beautiful art!!!
