It appears the AI trainer may lack confidence in its gamers' ability to score, or believes that the punter can use some help. The reason the AI coach decided on that gameplan remains a mystery, but it could be that the player has suffered some punting problems in previous games. However, with numerous Franchise Mode glitches, it's possible that this training decision is just another one.
The suspicious training decision doesn't seem like it'll do much harm for the entire year, and will just bring about just a little increase to the player's punting, which may end up being more useful than expected. Fortunately, if the odd gameplan is a bug, then it does not violate the match like many previous bugs in Madden NFL 21. Players may laugh at the training decision, especially since most have probably noticed the offensive gameplan options and never chosen punting.
With EA releasing the previous Franchise Mode upgrade for Madden 21, it appears the focus has shifted to the release of Madden NFL 22. Many fans are hoping for new features in Madden 22, and possibly developments to Face of the Franchise Mode. Although the title hasn't been officially announced, it's expected to release later this season, given the history of annual Madden releases. Rumors suggest another Madden cover star has been selected, though EA has not formally revealed this info.
Madden NFL 22 has not officially been confirmed, but it seems as close to certain as one can be that it will be coming this season. While an argument could be made that Digital Arts should take a year off from the Madden NFL series, there's hardly any chance that will really happen. In short, whatever is offered at Madden NFL 22, it needs to be a large debut in contrast to how Madden NFL 21 premiered.
