The most recent Madden game was revealed in the last week. It's an update to one the most famous games in the world of sports. But, PC gamers were disappointed to discover that the Madden NFL 22 PC edition is a final-gen. This version also be missing features from the next generation EA has been pushing for the PS5/X360 Series X versions. EA stated that this is due to its focus on next-generation consoles.
EA has announced that Madden NFL 22 would be available on the PS5 (X/S) versions of Madden NFL 22. These features were not present in the previous-generation Xbox One and PS4 releases. The features include new-gen stats, more refined AI, stadium atmosphere and improved movement - with most included in the dynamic gameday feature that EA is introducing to make the latest Madden more engaging and realistic.
Unfortunately for the time being, the PC version will be the Xbox One/PS4 version and not the next generation version. Sports Gamers Online reached out to EA to get an explanation, and received a response, however, it's not going to satisfy disappointed PC players - who recently began receiving the Madden games again in the year 2019.
The spokesperson from EA Sports explained that "it's something that's being looked at in the near future." "We are at a very early stage in the transition from next-gen and our team is focused on providing the best experience that is possible on the new consoles, before looking at changing other platforms."
The explanation isn't without the possibility that a patch will be out for Madden 22 on PC after the game's release on August 20th In this instance "the future" could equally well refer to next year's Madden 23. This is certainly disappointing, especially in light of the fact that EA had made huge strides toward making Madden on PC equal to the consoles which was the case last year. Madden 21 for instance launched on Steam and Origin the same day as the console versions. That was a first in the series. It's a good thing that PC Madden players won't have to wait a whole year to get a new version of the game.
