While one nerf can be enough, Bolt's fletching has been affected twice in the same update. What "upgrades" do we receive in exchange? Semi-afk train: Some people prefer to work harder and have greater efficiency. So why does Sawmill or Teaks be preferred over Ivy? Why should people who put in more effort in training be penalized for their efforts? Jagex encourages lazyness?
Training several skills simultaneously is more effective than focusing on one at one time. Arguments that only one skill should ever been trained at any given moment will likely also be made by Alch at banks, who will inquire about why it's boring. Or, they think that the best way to train multiple abilities simultaneously is, for example, fishing and making use of the fish that is caught to cook.
It is possible to mix abilities and work effectively. Zarfot is a famous figure for his effectiveness in training every skill, got 200M Fletching employing this method.
It is impossible to learn another skill while also performing other tasks. Alching comes close to this, but it is limited by the Standard spellbook. There is no Ourania teleport casting, no casting in a Monkey shape, slow cast time (MUCH faster XP than Bolt's fletching) and constant switching to Spellbook tab.
