Although Thrall killed Garrosh using

It was garrosh's exposure at Pandaria's mists sha gods who were evil that drove garrosh insane, and gave him that huge terrible troll body. Before that even in the raid of the icecrown, you'll observe that garrosh was smaller and thrall used to be larger than garrosh. Additionally, he joined the iron horde . He grew stronger in the hands of those orcs.
I'm sure he worked to the max with his "real gangsta iron horde orc bros" and grew bigger and stronger.
In addition, I think that Thrall was not able to speak during the whole fight since internalized he felt he was at fault. He was the same until he had a conversation in Korthia with his mom.
He knew that garrosh had to be killed however it was only the last option. He could have cut off his head, cut him with an axe punching him in the face with the dooms hammer or cut off the head with a knife. But maybe that would feel too primitive. The electric chair was his option, which allowed him to be executed using just one lightning bolt. I'm guessing that death was not a lot of pain to garrosh. In a split second, lightning strikes and he is unable to maintain his senses. He is dead instantly after the shock.
I'm trying convey that the thrall of the warrior was not able to be killed. Since that would be the most brutal and painful death for garrosh. Honor is the duty of the warrior. The Shaman is the wild one. The elements are more wild and untamed. They push and stroke you and you'll get destroyed with their power in a matter of minutes.
It's also possible that thrall lost his warrior-like skills because of a lack of practice as he mostly just uses his shaman powers since the war ended using archimonde in Warcraft 3. So maybe thrall has grown weaker as a warrior during the time. He is now more warrior-like, and could probably kill makgora using an axe throw "for Azeroth!" Just like Helya.
Although Thrall killed Garrosh using his shamanistic skills but he still felt guilty about how he handled the situation and how Garrosh was killed due to Thrall's actions as well as all the other factors that contributed to his loss of power.
