Runescape as well as Outriders aren't two games that people imagine playing in tandem and so the sight of a Runescape player addressing r/Outriders could surprise you. This led to an informative post and an exchange between players of both and/or both games. The whole thing boils down to a single ex-Jagex employee. Jagex staffer: David Osborne, otherwise called in the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.
Osborne recently posted on LinkedIn that he's quit Jagex after fifteen years of content editing story design, narrative design, and lead design. He made the decision according to his description, to "test his skills within the business." Osborne is leaving Jagex and heading straight to Square Enix on the publishing part, as a Senior Designer. He'll be in charge of "some amazing games" beginning with Outriders.
This information prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to contact r/Outriders with a simple message about Mod Osborne who he described as the "warm friendly "Dad" face of Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes everything Mod Osborne has performed for the community through his career, including a few clips, such as acting as Mod Elfborne to support Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) as well as joining livestreams and assisting with the company's vision.
Some communities or gamers might be angry about losing a recognizable company face, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to comment on their experiences. One of the commenters states that they feel they've been both winners and losers due to playing at both Runescape and Outriders. Other players were delighted by this news, even those who were not familiar with Osborne before, due to the glowing praise from a member of the Runescape community.
